Atkomatic 8400 Solenoid Valve
8000 Series: Stainless Steel, Pilot-Piston, Pressure 5 to 4000 psig
High Pressure Valve Configurable for a Variety of Fluid Applications
8000 Series Valve Features:
- Pressure to 4000 psig, depending on fluid and coil type
- Pilot operated: requires a minimum pressure differential of 5 psig
- Full ported valves
- Available in normally-open and normally-closed versions
- Fluid temperatures from -423F to +500F
- Stainless Steel construction on all wetted parts (316SS for machined parts & CF8M for cast parts); plunger material is 416SS that is treated for increased corrosion resistance
- Will handle fluids with viscosity up to 200 SUS
- Suitable for a wide variety of fluids, including air, gases, liquids, hydraulic fluids, steam, cryogenic fluids and corrosive fluids
- Removable 316SS body inserts (stainless steel trim)
- Optional pilot and seat materials of PTFE, PCTFE, Buna-N, Viton, EPR, or 316SS depending on fluid type and pressure
- Body seal materials of PTFE, Viton, Buna-N, or EPR
- Pipe sizes of 1/4˝ through 2˝ NPT
- Cv from 1.1 to 45
- Class H coils standard
- Can use a double-wound class H coil, depending on pressure, for operation up to 4000 psig; requires the use of a separate relay to drop out primary coil winding after valve actuation
- Coil housings available in NEMA 1 (standard), NEMA 4 (waterproof), NEMA 7 (explosion-proof for hazardous locations), and combination NEMA 4 & 7
- Manual opening, throttling device or electrical valve position indicator are available as options

Options:
- Operating Pressure: additional (lower) operating pressure options are available, as shown above in the “How to Order” graphic
- Seat/Pilot/Seal Materials: additional seat/pilot/seal material options are available (such as EPR, PCTFE, metal), as shown above in the “How to Order” graphic
- Valve Modifications:
- Manual Throttling (“T” suffix): allows restriction of flow through the valve by reducing the area of the main valve orifice
- Manual Opening (“M” suffix): allows manual opening of the valve in the even of electrical failure
- Position Indicator (“P” suffix): electrical switches that show both the valve open and closed positions for connection to an external control system
Notes:
- Unless otherwise noted, all Atkomatic solenoid valves are designed for installation in a horizontal pipeline with the coil oriented vertically over the pipe center line.
- It is important to locate filters immediately upstream of the valves (with a maximum micron rating of 40 microns) to prevent contamination in the system from causing functional problems with the valves.
- When selecting the product options, if no results are returned the combination is invalid and other selections will need to be made. For example, Steam and Cryogenic applications require TFE or metal seats because of the temperature requirements.
