Autoclave 15M42B1 Adapter
Principle of Operation:
Male-female adapters are designed to adapt a female connection to another size and/or type of connection without the need for additional couplings. In selecting an adapter involving two different sized connections, the larger connection should be on the male end where it is possible to maximize the mechanical strength of the adapter.
Connection Types:
- Male Connection HIGH PRESSURE: The High Pressure connection is a refinement of the original cone & thread joint which has been the standard connection in high pressure technology since its development by an agency of the US Government over 90 years ago. The pressure handling capabilities of this connection design have been applied successfully to control pressures in excess of 150,000 psi. All-metal sealing and working temperatures from -423F to +1200F.
- Female Connection LOW PRESSURE: The Low Pressure (aka “SpeedBite”) connection is a single-ferrule bite-type compression fitting engineered for use with tubing designed by Parker Autoclave Engineers to a controlled hardness. Speedbite fittings employ a bite-type compression style single ferrule that is manually tightened and are rated for MAWP up to 15,000 psi.

- Material of Construction: All Parker Autoclave Engineers adapters are precision machined from cold-worked type 316 stainless steel. Other materials available on special order.
Notes:
- All Parker Autoclave Engineers adapters are supplied complete with appropriate glands, collars, tube nuts and sleeves.
- The maximum pressure rating for an adapter is determined by the connection component with the LOWEST pressure rating.
- Parker Autoclave Engineers Male/Female Adapters are also available in a “one-piece” design. They are identical to the two piece designs in length and can be ordered by adding the suffix “-OP” to the two piece adapter part number.
