ATKOMATIC SOLENOID VALVES
SEMI-DIRECT LIFT SOLENOID VALVES
Atkomatic semi-direct lift solenoid valves are used where full flow is required, but where a 5 psi differential may not always be available. This valve operates similarly to the pilot-operated valves, except there is a mechanical linkage of the plunger and the piston assemblies. The solenoid can then lift and hold open the piston assembly after the internal pressure has been unbalanced by the pilot opening. It will then hold the valve open with low or high flow (even to zero psi differential).
Typical applications include:
- Pressurizing a tank to full source pressure
- Process shutoff in a closed circulating system, especially where low flow and/or low system pressure is normal
- Large vacuum systems
- Suction line shutoff to a pump
- Other applications where a minimum 5 psi differential is not always available
NOTE: semi-direct lift solenoid valves must be mounted in a horizontal pipeline, with the coil oriented vertically over the pipe centerline, in order to operate correctly.
